APG UK, the London-based office of the APG Network, the world's largest airline representation company, has been appointed as the GSA for Georgian Airways. Under the agreement, APG will be providing full sales and marketing services as well call centre facilities in the UK. Georgian Airways has recently launched non-stop flights to London Gatwick from its base in Tbilisi. The twice-weekly service denotes the first return of flights to the route since British Airways ceased its schedule in 2013 having previously acquired the route with the take over of British Midland who in turn had acquired it from British Mediterranean.
Due to demand (in the first quarter of 2017, Georgia experienced a 26% increase in British visitors), Georgian Airways has now added a third weekly flight, operating on Mondays, Wednesdays and Saturdays using an Embraer 190 aircraft featuring 9 business class seats and 88 economy class seats. Georgian Airways has also recently joined BSP UK enabling all IATA accredited travel agents to issue Georgian Airways (A9) tickets via their GDSs.
