APG has signed a GET agreement with Volotea for over 30 countries including Ireland. The agreement provides a ticketing facility on APG's own code, GP as well as a programme of digital marketing in the territories.
As a result of the agreement, travel agents in Ireland can now issue Volotea flights via GDS, ticketing on code GP, and will also receive regular news updates on the airline. Volotea already operates online to Cork in Ireland, from Verona. Volotea was established by Alaeo S.L. from Barcelona, a company created by former Vueling founders, Carlos Muñoz and Lázaro Ros. The name "Volotea" originates from the Spanish verb "revolotear," meaning "to fly around." It commenced operations on 5 April 2012. Volotea connects small and medium sized European cities with non-stop direct flights at very competitive prices. The airline offers many destinations, non-stop flights, budget prices, sensible times, friendly airports, complicity with the local area and simple hospitality. Good service at low cost.
